L'héliotrope - revue photographique

The book «Identité & Mémoire» presents, through one hundred pages, a selection of photographic work made by schoolchildren, in North of France .
This work began in December 2003 in the mining town Billy-Montigny, then gradually expanded to the entire mining heritage the region (concessions Courrières, Dourges and Drocourt). Over 150 children from 7 to 12 years have therefore worked on a fifty housing estates in 18 cities of this territory.
The particularity of this work is being done using rudimentary cameras made by children from cans of recovery. This technique of "pinhole camera" has the advantage of providing unusual and timeless images .

The first exhibition falling within the framework of the commemoration of the centenary of the disaster called Courrières was held at Billy-Montigny in March 2006.
