"Little daily mutilations" - 2004-2010

This series approaches the skin as being the border of the body, as a contact point with the world.
It plays the role of filter, receptacle of true experiences…I scrutinize the body of others, observing what it has to show of the most intimate and short-lived.In this, "time" is a central element in this series : these traces are "on-the-way-to-disappear" ...and photography is filling here his basic function ...It is a means for me to establish a mapping of the derisory body: by way of "mutilations" and of medical imaging, whose aesthetics inspire me; it's all about imprints, about subtle tracks and wrong paths.

Bodies (or more exactly the fragments of body) become material, a kind of flesh-dough that never becomes totally abstracted. Everyone can (re)discover a little of themselves : their body as it is when they wake up in the morning, or after a nap on the grass.

Like stigmata of one's intimate everyday life ...
